Skip posted his review of the last Fillmore show on The Hot Rock Livejournal. An excerpt:
They played a good mix of the new songs, plus good stuff from the other albums. They even played Call The Doctor! They also played a Bruce Springsteen song (Promised Land) with Rock N Roll Janet on harmonica, in addition to her drumming and harmony duties. Some dude threw his stocking cap on the stage, and Carrie said:
“Did someone want this back?
… most bands get bras and panties thrown on stage… but we always get stocking caps, and socks…
We just want to thank you for your… practical gifts.”
Jane For Short has her review of the third and final night at the Fillmore. I love how her first reaction on coming home from the show is to start a band. A very, very common reaction to Sleater-Kinney shows, I’ve found. Short excerpt:
Then, of course, came Sleater-Kinney. I don’t even know what to say about them. They were phenomenal, and by the time they were done I was planning my band. Little did roommate Lisa know that she would be appointed guitarist/frontsinger. Anyway, Sleater-Kinney. Go buy all their records. They sang Bruce Springsteen, and I wanted to cry it was so good.
